Apps that will endlessly compose and perform the piece in realtime:
Play it in the browser – leave it open while you work, think, sleep or have a meeting. You can even set a timer if you like.
NOTE: This link will try to open a new browser window, not a tab. It needs to be in a new window, if it's in a tab, it will go to sleep as soon as you switch tabs. Only a new window will stay awake so you can listen while you do other things. If a new window doesn't open, please right click this link and choose 'Open in new window.'
Apps that will endlessly compose and perform the piece in realtime:
Sacred Migration (Infinite Version) — MacOs — Windows — Linux
The algorithm for this piece is similar to cubes falling and bouncing on thousands of rotating platforms, like some kind of fantastical pachinko machine, and echoing the unpredictable nature of migration, pushed and bounced from one edge to the next, always falling and recovering, always remembering and looking forward. Life and sound emerging endlessly, creating memories anew.
Cover art: "Perpetual Motion" by Asahachi Kono, 1931. Public Domain.
These pieces are not meant to be listened to from beginning to end. Just listen until you've had enough. They are performed and recorded live from within improvisational immersive virtual environments.
